CCI acquires majority stake in European battery storage company S4 Energy BV

London (GB) - January 9, 2023 - Castleton Commodities International LLC ("CCI") announced today that a subsidiary has acquired a majority stake in S4 Energy BV ("S4 Energy"), developer and owner of large-scale energy storage systems.

S4 Energy, based in the Netherlands, builds hybrid storage systems combining lithium-ion batteries with its proprietary KINEXT flywheel technology. S4 Energy has an operational portfolio of 25 MW in the Netherlands and a project pipeline in various stages of development and construction. The company plans to build more than 300 MW of long-term storage facilities across Western Europe over the next 3 years.
