Energy Storage NL and Connectr work on national Energy Storage Living Lab
The energy transition is currently accelerating. Within this transition, energy storage plays a crucial role. The scale-up and safe roll-out of the various energy storage technologies still requires attention. For example, companies in the Netherlands are looking at increasing energy storage capacity, extending the lifespan and at crucial preconditions in the areas of safety, raw materials and recycling. This presents opportunities for our manufacturing industry to develop the new generation of energy storage systems in the Netherlands.
Energy storage testbed
Both ESNL and Connectr want to accelerate this innovation development around energy storage. By joining forces, more impact will be realized on a national scale. Therefore, both parties will now work together more intensively. Specifically, they are now working on a joint experimental site for energy storage companies at Industriepark Kleefse Waard.
In the process of developing new storage technology, the technology or system needs to be tested extensively before it can be introduced to the market. Therefore, having a well-equipped test field where ESNL members and Connectr partners can test and demonstrate their technology is very valuable. Also, the test setup also has the necessary demonstration value and can be used to show potential customers the technology in action."
Networking and knowledge sharing
Connectr set up such a test environment, the Energy Demo Field, last year at the Kleefse Waard Industrial Park. This will be further developed in the coming year into a full-fledged test field for conducting tests and doing demonstrations. The test field offers a great opportunity to invite both networks and other interested parties and to present solutions to the market through physical setups.
Coming to test at the Energy Demo Field not only means you have access to a test environment. You also get access to the Shared Office. This is where ESNL and Connectr work together to facilitate knowledge sharing and connect the networks. The goal for the coming year is therefore to jointly set up a series of activities (events, run-ups) together. In these, in addition to knowledge sharing, we offer companies from our networks the opportunity to present their solutions.
If you are interested in putting your energy storage technology down on the demo field, contact Lennard Nellestein (lennard@connectr.nu) for a quick intake to check if the test question fits on the Energy Demo Field.
