ESNL launches Policy Sounding Board for member companies
As part of the annual plan, Energy Storage NL is starting a Policy Sounding Board Group for members who want to participate in advocacy from within the industry. The main goal is to strengthen coordination between ESNL and public affairs advisors or advocates of member companies. In addition, the Sounding Board Group is an important platform for picking up input on position papers and letters addressed to members of parliament or ministries.
Composition
The sounding board group consists of representatives of Energy Storage NL member companies, striving for a balanced representation of various sectors and organizations within the industry. The members have experience in public affairs, policy advocacy and affinity with the goals of ESNL.
Methodology
- Meetings: The Sounding Board meets twice a year (online or physically) to discuss strategies and consider any adjustments based on recent developments and experiences.
- Input on position papers and letters: Members are kept informed by email of relevant position papers and draft letters. Members are actively invited to provide input or feedback within a specified time frame.
- Surveys: In addition to the meetings and emails, there is the opportunity to administer short surveys to the focus group. This provides an additional tool to gain deeper insights and gauge the diversity of views within the group.
An evaluation will take place periodically to assess the effectiveness of the sounding board group and, if necessary, to adjust the method of operation.
Advocacy newsletter
Based on the monitoring and sounding board group, a special mailing to all members is set up twice a year to effectively inform about relevant policy developments and the progress of ESNL's efforts. Initially, the newsletter will be sent around the appearance of the Spring Memorandum (no later than June 1) and the Autumn Memorandum (no later than December 1) by the Cabinet.
Results & planning
The Policy Sounding Board seeks a strong unified voice from the Dutch energy storage industry.
It is possible to sign up for the Sounding Board using the contact information below. An initial meeting will then be scheduled to mark the formation and discuss the initial frameworks. Thereafter, a cycle of up to twice a year will be established, taking into account the dynamics of the policy landscape. Furthermore, the sounding board group will be consulted based on current events and the policy monitor.
