ESNL kick-off meeting on cybersecurity successfully kicked off

On June 6, the well-attended kick-off meeting of ESNL took place, with cyber security as its central theme. The session offered valuable insights thanks to presentations by FME, Modelec and Nobleo, who addressed laws and regulations, the application of IT and OT solutions, and the necessities of secure boot. On the website - behind the member login - the presentations and full recordings can be found.

Presentation FME: FME is active in various fields and provides support to industry associations. During the meeting, they highlighted recent European and national developments in cybersecurity. The presentation included a detailed explanation of NIS2, CRA and other directives, as well as an inventory of the need for platforms such as Digitally Secure Together and Cyberrating.

Presentation Modelec: Modelec emphasized in their presentation "IT vs. OT" why an IT security approach is not appropriate for OT (process) environments. They discussed the differences between IT and OT environments and why an IT-based cybersecurity view does not work within a process environment. In addition, a process-based approach was explained along with the benefits of matching solutions.

Presentation Nobleo: Nobleo's presentation focused on "Secure Boot within the Chain of Cybersecurity," related to current standards and guidelines such as NIS2 and the Radio Equipment Directive Directive (RED). Nobleo is also developing functionalities for battery-based storage systems, including central control software, balancing systems and advanced BMS.

The recording and presentations of the meeting can be found behind the login, on the page of the working group Security.
