Sector-wide Energy Storage Market Research
Energy Storage NL (ESNL) has launched a comprehensive market study of the energy storage sector in the Netherlands. The pilot version of this sector-wide survey, conducted by ESNL in 2023, provided valuable insights about the entire energy storage sector. Notable was the high willingness to participate in the market survey and the need for detailed market information.
To take a further professionalization step, ESNL engaged research firm ECORYS to expand its energy storage market research. This research includes a literature review that identifies the macroeconomic context of the Netherlands in relation to energy storage. It also describes the industry players and a competitive analysis of the Netherlands relative to Europe.
The market survey focuses on various energy storage technologies, such as electricity storage, heat storage and molecule storage. It will also identify the various application areas of energy storage systems, such as at wind turbines, solar farms, industry, front or back of the meter. The study will also clarify whether the energy storage system will be used privately, collectively, industrially or on a large scale.
