Looking back on the successful 10th edition of Energy Storage Day 2024

The tenth edition of Energy Storage Day took place on Wednesday, Oct. 16, where we joined leading industry experts and innovators to discuss the latest developments around long duration energy storage.

Long duration energy storage is indispensable for the stability and future-proofing of our energy system. Although the debate often focuses on short-term storage solutions, the day highlighted that long duration storage is also crucial for balancing supply and demand in the long term.

Some highlights of the day:

  • The 1e pressure from the international solar guide 2024 was presented by Kenneth Colijn of RVO to Jeroen Neefs, director of Energy Storage NL.
  • Molecule Storage: interesting insights from Repowered (Jeroen Jansen) and Power to Power (Ernest Aberson).
  • Heat Storage: practical examples of Hykro (Wiel Kroonen) and Brabetech (Thomas Stroes).
  • Techtalk: valuable contributions from Essent (Miriam Davidson), TU Eindhoven (David Smeulders) and Enexis (Ton van Cuijk).
  • Electricity Storage: pioneering innovations from Ocean Grazer (Frits Bliek) and Redox Storage (Kees van de Kerk).

The day ended with a networking reception, where ideas were exchanged and new collaborations emerged to further accelerate the energy transition.

We thank all speakers and participants for their valuable contributions to this day. Together we are taking important steps towards a sustainable and stable energy system!
