Retrospective: Inspiring networking event on financing energy storage

On Tuesday, Feb. 4, Energy Storage NL organized, together with host company ABN AMRO a dynamic and interactive event on financing energy storage in the Netherlands. This networking meeting marked the start of our theme month on energy storage financing opportunities and brought together experts, financiers and entrepreneurs to explore insights and opportunities.

The morning began with an in-depth presentation by Tomas Mink and Jerome van der Aalst (ABN AMRO), followed by a case discussion by Peter van Ees and Eiso Vaandrager (Dispatch Grid Services). Attendees got a detailed picture of how banks are approaching this crucial sector and what forms of financing are available to accelerate the energy transition.

During an engaging panel discussion, experts discussed funding opportunities within the industry. We thank our panelists: Mark van Zon (ABN AMRO), Sanne de Boer (Rabobank) and Raphael van Veen (ING).

In addition to bank financing, alternative forms were also discussed. In inspiring pitches, experts shared their insights on crowdfunding, investments and subsidies: Roy van der Loos (Duurzaam Investeren) on Crowdfunding, Derck Truijens (Meewind) on Investments and Sjoerd van Dijk (RVO) on Subsidies.

To close, guest speaker Richard Krajicek gave an inspiring talk, after which participants had the opportunity to network during a communal lunch. The day ended on a sporting note at the ABN AMRO Open tennis tournament.
