Vacancy: Energy Storage Project Manager

Are you a project manager who will roll up your sleeves and help us accelerate the energy transition using energy storage? And do you want to work at the intersection of technology, politics and business? Then we are looking for you.

There are 29 industries affiliated with FME. For one of the industries, Energy Storage NL, to strengthen the team we are looking for a: Energy Storage Project Manager.

What will you do?

In the role of project manager at Energy Storage NL (ESNL), you will support the leading trade association for the Dutch energy storage sector with more than 230 members. Together with your colleagues from the project office, you are responsible for setting up and implementing projects that accelerate energy storage within the energy transition.

You act as a link between member companies, knowledge institutions, interest groups and governments, and contribute to the incorporation of, for example, batteries, heat buffers and hydrogen storage systems in a sustainable energy system. Your tasks include initiating projects, supervising working groups, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders such as grid managers, provinces/municipalities and ministries.

A concrete example of what you will pick up is the cooperation with provinces and municipalities around the regional and local incorporation of storage. You will be the point of contact for local administrators and provide good information together with other branches so that local administrators can reach good decisions.

You will also work closely with your team and the ESNL board to achieve organizational, qualitative and financial goals from annual plans and budgets.

  • A salary between €3,400 and €5,699 gross based on full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience;
  • 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days on a full-time basis;

  • Home working budget for workplace furnishing of up to €750 for 5 years;
  • Home working allowance of €2.40 per day;
  • An elective budget of €300 in 2025 after pro rata employment, for earmarked goals focused on vitality and Smart Working;

Who are you?

As an energetic project manager with a passion for energy transition and policy making, you have a helicopter view of the energy system and know how to connect public and private stakeholders. You are independent, proactive and entrepreneurial, with a hands-on mentality that helps you quickly master the subject matter. Flexibility and collaboration with various disciplines are your strengths, and you have the diplomacy and solution orientation to steer divergent interests toward a common goal.

Job requirements 

  • You have 2 to 5 years of experience leading projects in / around energy transition and have a completed college/university education;
  • You have a managerial/political background with strong affinity towards the energy transition and the role of technology;
  • You have a feel for political relationships and different interests and can switch well on content between members, politics and other stakeholders.
