Customized Energy Systems, CES for short, is the new name of ATEPS, founded in 2014. CES develops, builds and delivers energy storage systems that provide a solution to a power shortage or have concrete revenue models. We do this from Helmond and have everything in-house. We develop both software and hardware ourselves, allowing us to provide customized solutions in addition to standard solutions. We supply various battery technologies. The smallest system is a Solition PWRbooster of 30kW and 33kWh. The size of a storage system can go up to several megawatts. Basically we supply b-2-b and, since we are organization part of Exide Technologies, our systems are purchased worldwide.

Solving power shortage

If there is no grid connection or if an existing grid connection cannot be reinforced, business continuity can come under pressure. Energy storage systems from CES ensure that you no longer need to increase the grid capacity but have immediate access to more power and can continue your business.

For example, if one wants to offer fast charging (say 180kW) at a small connection (3x80A/56kW). If grid reinforcement is not possible (or too expensive!) storage is the solution.

Earning with storage

Opportunities to earn with storage are diverse. Some examples:

• Trading energy: buying into the imbalance market when the price is low and selling when the price is high, has an excellent revenue model.
• It is also possible to make your storage system available for grid frequency stabilization. This also has a very nice efficiency
• Storing generation (solar/wind) to use at another time yields much better prices than feed-in at times when everyone else is doing it.
• By accommodating the peaks in consumption from batteries, contracted power can be reduced
