Kleefse Waard Industrial Park

Cleantech community

Industriepark Kleefse Waard (IPKW) is a work location of approximately 90 hectares that houses, facilitates and connects sustainable energy-related companies. Together with government, education and business, the cleantech campus of the future is being built.

Sustainability has traditionally been in our fibers. As a former site of the AKU (Algemene Kunstzijde Unie) and later AkzoNobel and now owned by Schipper Bosch, sustainability is propagated in different ways. On the one hand, the theme of the parties settling here (the tenants) and, on the other, how the place itself is arranged. With the type of companies, the built environment and the programming - where IPKW gives substance to the circular economy in terms of energy, waste, buildings, mobility and people - the ambition is to be the most sustainable business park in the Netherlands by 2025.

Connection and synergy

IPKW focuses specifically on companies in Energy and Environmental Technology (EMT), also known as cleantech. The tenants develop and innovate for a cleaner future, in an environment that is interesting from both a business and social entrepreneurial perspective. Collaboration with innovative companies and education is key. With the Greenhouse as an incubator and with Generation-E as a program, IPKW as a cleantech campus also offers plenty of opportunities for the development of energy startups.

Facilities and meeting

A vibrant cleantech community is encouraged and facilitated at IPKW by a wide range of facilities. From restaurant De Waard and the in-house technical service to boot camp and an electric car share for IPKW'ers. Meeting and sharing knowledge are always central. With great regularity, events, meetings and product launches are facilitated and organized at the park. In this way we work together in a special place, bursting with history, on the energy campus of the future.
