CrowdNett
The supply of and demand for power must be balanced on the power grid; 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, sun and wind are not always available 24 hours a day. Some days the wind is insufficient on other days we have unexpectedly much sun. With the growth of wind and solar energy, accommodating peaks and troughs is becoming increasingly challenging.
With CrowdNett, we have a solution. CrowdNett is a network of batteries that we can charge or discharge at any time. With this we have a virtual power plant, so to speak. With CrowdNett, we continue the innovation of home batteries.
CrowdNett is a network of home batteries, which you can charge or discharge remotely. This network allows a grid operator, such as TenneT, to access spare capacity to keep the electricity grid in balance. Eneco then provides a streamlined process.
The home battery in CrowdNett's network must always have available continuous power. This power is a constant frequency of 50Hz. If the power grid falls below 50Hz, the Powerwall will start supplying power. If the power grid is above 50Hz, the Powerwall will start storing energy. Coal-fired power plants take a while to scale up or down; a home battery responds immediately.
