- Drilling machine with 1500 kWh consumption per day supplied with battery power
- No emissions, odor or noise pollution near Natura 2000 area
Building of 9,100 m², sustainably built
Making construction more sustainable is necessary. More and more clients are getting on board with this, increasing the demand for sustainable materials and construction methods. Greener is happy to help you take the step toward sustainability.
Dura Vermeer, Fundex and Greener are joining forces for the sustainable NEXUS project at the Bio Science Park in Oegstgeest. This new 9,100-square-meter building will house various laboratories and office spaces for start-ups and scale-ups, as well as an extensive parking garage. But it starts at the beginning: a solid foundation. The project is within 3 km of a Natura 2000 area, so extra care must be taken when drilling that foundation to avoid noise, raw materials, smells and vibrations.
Electric drilling for the foundation
Fortunately, there is always a sustainable option. Fundex deploys a powerful electric drill to drill for the foundation. This requires a power of 1200-1500 kWh per day, equal to the daily consumption of about 150 households. A powerful piece of steel, in other words. So powerful, in fact, that it takes three Greener batteries of 422 kWh to supply it with sufficient power.
The setup works as follows: one battery is charged through the mains connection. The stored power is then transferred to a second battery, which is driven to the drill. This second battery discharges the energy into a third battery, which is connected directly to the drill.
By continuously transporting the charged current from the mains connection to the drill, the battery always remains sufficiently full, even when consuming 1500 kWh per day.
A unique setup that makes good use of the fact that our batteries are easy to transport. Because you can place them anywhere and you can combine multiple batteries with each other, you can supply even the heaviest loads with powerful power effortlessly, without fear of power failure. For example, we have previously a 235-ton drill powered by as many as 12 Greener batteries that worked in tandem, and a downtown drilling project run sustainably, without noise pollution.
Together with Dura Vermeer and Fundex, we found a suitable, sustainable solution. Without emissions, without noise from a diesel generator, and without damage to the surrounding nature.
