Arnhem and Nijmegen University of Applied Sciences
In cooperation with the University of Arnhem and Nijmegen (HAN), Alfen supplied an energy storage system to enable a fully sustainable energy supply on the university grounds.
Several renewable energy sources are connected to this energy storage system: solar panels, a wind turbine and a biodiesel generator. This combination forms a large renewable power plant, with the energy storage system at its center. The main components of the energy storage system are ESI inverters, batteries and a high-tech management system.
The Alfen energy storage system can be used in off-grid applications, often in conjunction with solar or wind power, but also for on-grid applications such as load balancing, energy trading and frequency regulation.
