V-Storage: energy storage at VDL ETG

At VDL ETG, V-Storage, the joint venture of VDL Groep and Scholt Energy Services, has installed the first behind-the-meter large-scale energy storage system. The energy storage system contributes to the stability of the electricity grid.

For V-Storage, the project aims to demonstrate that large-scale energy storage behind-the-meter is possible and attractive. V-Storage sees the system as a first step toward reusing used batteries from VDL's electric buses that will make electric bus transport easier to integrate into the current electricity grid.
